POLICIES

WEEKLY* PRIVATE LESSONS:

45-minute lesson: $40 (Beginner/Intermediate)

60-minute lesson: $50 (Advanced)
*The study of voice requires regular, ongoing practice and guidance. For this reason, I do not schedule "drop-in" lessons. If you sign up for lessons, you agree to weekly lessons until you complete your vocal study.

FAMILY OPTION:
Families with more than one student enrolled in lessons have the option of scheduling lessons on a rotation, enabling each student to have a private lesson, while paying for only one lesson per week. While this is not as beneficial as weekly lessons for each student, it will help make lessons more affordable for large families.

LESSON DURATION:

Each student is allotted a specific lesson time. Try to arrive on time to guarantee a full lesson. As a courtesy to the student who follows, no lesson time will be extended for a student who is not ready to begin on time.

LESSON PAYMENTS:

Lesson fees are due on the first of each month. If payment is not received within a week, you will receive a reminder to pay by the next lesson.  If payment is not received after the second lesson, a $5.00 late fee will be added to your bill. Other arrangements may be made at the discretion of the instructor.  Many students find Venmo (@Rachel_Bliss_Hoffman) to be convenient but other payment arrangements can be made. Students are also responsible for the purchase of lesson supplies, including but not limited to sheet music, manuscript paper, and textbooks. When possible, I will share copies of my own music collection to help minimize expenses.

ATTENDANCE POLICY:

There will be no payment adjustments for student initiated absences.  Students are encouraged to schedule a make-up lesson within one week of the missed lesson to maintain progress.  If a student knows of an absence in advance, arrangements can be made to trade weekday lesson times with another weekday student. Saturday afternoons are always reserved for make-up lessons. If the instructor must cancel a lesson and the student is unable to reschedule the lesson for another time, the missed lesson will be deducted from the next month's bill. This attendance policy is designed to offer flexibility, while providing your teacher a stable income.

RECOMMENDATION LETTERS:

There may be times when singers will need a letter of recommendation for college applications, competition applications, auditions, or employment opportunities. Please note that I write recommendation letters for current students who have studied with me for a minimum of 6 continuous months. I can only recommend a student if I know their vocal habits and abilities and this takes time to observe. Please don't ask for exceptions.
